Luvien is an early English word and translates as "to love". Perhaps the most powerful of emotions, the act of loving another or ourselves requires trust, loyalty and commitment. 

Roses have two faces; exquisitely beautiful flowers, and their delicately dangerous thorns. This dual nature was adopted and proudly adorned by knights of old during warfare. A reminder that tenderness should accompany brutality.  Alike the protective thorns of a rose shielding its delicate bloom, a valiant knight would engage in battle to protect their beloved.
